Carol Schram: Jacob Markstrom looks set to re-take the net as Canucks face reeling Ducks As the Vancouver Canucks kick off a three-game California road trip on Wednesday in Anaheim, Jacob Markstrom is taking the morning skate and looks like he's set to play, while the Ducks will turn to Kevin Boyle for his first NHL start in net while general manager Bob Murray makes his coaching debut.

So if Marek Mazanec is considered an "emergency recall" then he does not need to clear waivers when he gets sent down to Utica (once Demko comes back) correct?

I think I read that he has been up with the Rangers, but that he has another 20 or so days before he would require waivers. So unless Demko is out longer, shouldn’t be a problem.

Don't be too sure, with Green behind the bench he'll run with Tanev on his wrong side for 29mins and put Eriksson-Beagle-Motte out in all high risk situations.

Ok in all seriousness, it should be a close game between two poorly coached teams.

i really wished Peter Chiarelli took over bench boss when Todd McLellan was fired like Murray has done with Anaheim.

And what may I ask that leads you too believe this?

Is it because Benning drafted Pettersson and Boeser and they are half decent.

Or is it how he can take AHL talent and have them produce at a mediocre level in the NHL.

It’s the one you’re not mentioning: taking a bottom feeder team to playing .500 puck. 90% of us had this as a bottom 5 team. Green has them playing well.

Carol, I just read your Forbes article, well done.

I wonder if Murray will have his team jacked up and prepared to play from the drop of the puck, something the Canucks really lack.

Is it Green or Petey that has us in this situation because Green sure sucked last year.

That's what I thought, just think if Trotz was coach, this group would be challenging Calgary and San Jose.

So when the dust settles, it's possible that we'll have:

Markstrom and Demko with Canucks
Mazanec and Kulbakov wih the Comets
Dipietro in the minors.

If Philli is forced to waive Mike McKenna and we take him, where would he slot in?

Well it takes just over one player to win games, the coach is who motivates and structures how all the players are going to play(including ep). EP hasbeen huge, The team has overachieved with and without EP in the lineup IMO

Not in the first 10 mins of every game, but that`s not Green fault right.

Trotz is one of the better coaches in the league, I’m not convinced very many guys want to the job here. Maybe now with EP.

Ya that’s true. Never seem to come out hot. But they stay in games, seems to me he’s effected the players/how they play a fair bit.
